WHAT IS A CALL FOR PROPOSALS ?
A call for proposals enables communities to gather proposals from projects according to a customized templates and ruleset. Organizers can choose different ways of reviewing proposals and ultimately defining winners. A Call for Proposals is a container.
WHAT ARE THEY USEFUL FOR ?
It’s a particularly useful feature to mobilize a community and foster friendly competition, or identify outstanding projects and reward them.
Examples
- If you have a Community you can launch a Call for Proposals, in an effort to engage/animate your community and start a friendly competition for a crowdsourced prize, like graphic design support or a consultation from an electrochemist within your ecosystem.
- iGEM (a global synthetic biology networks) launches Calls for Proposals on JOGL to gather student applications around specific thematics like Biodesign.
- Electric skin is a company crafting self-powering biomaterials and are looking for fields of application. They can launch a Call for proposals to gather contributors to propose projects using their own technology and uncover other applications they hadn’t imagined
