What is a JOGL community

A Community is the second largest container on JOGL, in that it can host Projects and Call for Proposals. A community can also be affiliated to Organizations. The difference with a Hub is that communities cannot contain or be associated to other communities.

Why create a community

The purpose of a community is to organize a community of members around a topic of interest in order to:

  1. Discuss with community members (in a private or public setup)
  2. Share and manage documents
  3. Build a collective library of scientific papers
  4. Support the projects it is linked with by automatically sharing the needs of its projects and making resources available to the projects
  5. Share communities needs to help support the community’s work
  6. Manage community resources. Communities can fairly allocate resources to projects by organizing call for proposals

How to join a community

See joining a container. Once you have joined a community you are part of its ecosystem, and conversely, you are part of the ecosystem of all the containers the community is linked to (e.g., hubs, projects, organizations)

General and about
